Anthracite

Anthracite is a hard, glossy, black coal, which has amorphous structure and angular shape. The media is mined, crushed, and sieved to produce Anthracite filter media that meet or exceeds international standards such as AWWA B100-1 or EN12909 - 2005. Anthracite is used as upper layer of dual or triple media filters, its relative low density good layers separation and higher solid retention within upper layers of filter media

FILTRATION APPLICATIONS

Anthracite can be used in conventional, direct, or mixed-use filters. It is used in all gravity, or pressure filters.

  • Surface water filtration
  • Municipal or industrial wastewater tertiary filtration
  • Desalination pre-treatment filters
  • Filtration of suspended particulates from ground water
  • Swimming pools filters

Product Details

To distinguish our products, we add value to Anthracite filter material by achieving the following goals:

  • Consistent filtrate quality
  • Good solid retention capacity
  • Longer filter run time
  • Less water volume for backwash
  • Good layer separation from other media after re-stratification.

The following parameters are approximate, properties may slightly vary depending on natural material properties and whether regular or low-density Anthracite is chosen.
