Silica Gravel (Pebbles) is a naturally occurring granular filter media support. This support media is washed and graded between upper and lower size. Gravel is washed, dried, and sieved to standards such as AWWA B100 and / or EN12904. Mainly Support Gravel is used to prevent filter media migration through filter floor, it does not contribute to filtration process. The support gravel remains sub fluidized at all backwash velocities.
